The average age when a person develops cataract is around 60-75 years .However cataract can develop earlier or later in life. The timing of cataract surgery is flexible. One need not wait for the cataract to be mature to plan for surgery. Surgery is necessary when the vision is not up to one’s satisfaction.

Modern cataract surgery by Phacoemulsification is done through a very tiny incision, cataract is removed and replaced with an artificial lens (IOL). It is painless, stitchless, patchless and faster. It is extremely safe, convenient and has a quicker recovery of vision. Routine activities including Driving, cooking or watching TV can be resumed within a few days after the procedure.
